Objectives For This Exercise: After completing the laboratory exercises on epithelium, you should be able to:

Identify the different types of "covering and lining" epithelium in microscopic preparations.
Classify different "covering and lining" epithelia using the criteria of cell shape and number of layers.
Identify light microscopic sections of any type of "covering and lining" epithelium.
Identify goblet cells in microscope and discuss the major function of these cells.
