1. Tree or small shrub grows up to 45 feet tall
2. Branches have stout thorns at leaf base

5. Flowers are white to cream color and are "pea-like" or leguminous. Pods are produced that are 2-4 inches long and contain 4-9 kidney shaped seeds.
