ANATOMIC ATLAS FOR THE CANINE LUMBOSACRAL SPINE

Katherine J. Connors
Jeryl C. Jones, DVM, PhD, Dipl. ACVR

Welcome! This site is designed to serve as a tutorial for veterinary students studying anatomy or as a reference for veterinarians to use with their clients.

The site provides a sectional atlas of the normal canine lumbosacral spine in three planes: transverse, sagittal, and dorsal. Lateral and ventrodorsal radiographs of the lumbosacral spine serve as localizers for each series. Each series was constructed using photographs of frozen gross anatomic sections.

To begin, please use the menu on the left or click Next to view the Radiograph Localizer for Transverse Anatomic Slices.
