Mammillary process: Synonym metapophysis. Small, knoblike bony eminence
visible on the dorsal margins of the transverse processes in the
cranial thoracic region and the cranial articular processes in the
caudal thoracic-coccygeal regions. Can sometimes be misinterpreted
